Frequently Asked Questions

 

1. WHERE/WHEN DOES THE MARKET TAKE PLACE?

Our street markets take place on the first Saturday of the month, at Green Bench Brewing Company (1133 Baum Avenue, St. Petersburg, Florida). We also host additional pop-up markets at various locations in the area and have a different schedule for the summer months. These other dates and locations will be announced through social media outlets and on our website. 

 

2. HOW MANY SPOTS ARE THERE?

We are able to accommodate between 40-75 vendors in our full size Street Markets. Our pop-up markets usually consist of an average of 25 vendors. 

 

3. HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

The 2017 rates* are: Tent (10x10) spaces $55, and table (8ft) spaces $35. Mobile Shops and Food Trucks inquire on price. Vendors may share booths. 
(*Rates are based on a budget which covers permits, production costs and advertising. The above prices do not include tax.)

 

4. WHAT KIND OF VENDORS ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?

We’re looking for original local artists of all mediums, diy crafters, upcyclers, indie makers, designers, vintage and antique sellers, architectural salvage, musicians, holistics, horticulturists, artisanal good creators, non profit groups… basically, anything funky!

 

5. HOW DO I APPLY?

Please head over to our 'Become a Vendor' page where you will find the registration form to apply for the market. We will add you to our list and send you a confirmation email with payment link through SquareSpace Commerce if accepted.

 

6. IF I FILL OUT AN APPLICATION AM I GUARANTEED A SPACE?

No, unfortunately. We have many vendors apply to our market each month and are only able to take a percentage of them, as we have limited space at most of our locations. We also try to cap at 20% of each type of vendor so that the market provides an eclectic experience for our patrons and reflects the rich diversity of St. Petersburg.

 

7. WHEN DO I GET NOTIFIED?

You must turn in your application before the 15th of each previous month to the event. We will notify you within a week of that deadline with an acceptance email where you will be required to confirm your space with a payment by the deadline given. If you are not accepted, you will receive an email shortly after the 15th and will automatically be placed on a waiting list. You may be notified after that, with an opportunity to vend. 

 

8. HOW ARE SPACES ASSIGNED?

Space assignments are at the sole discretion of St. Pete Indie Market. Given the size and logistics of the market, specific space or adjacency requests can be considered but not always fulfilled. A map with a layout and loading instructions will be sent out the week before the event, if not before that. 

 

9. WHAT HAPPENS IF THE WEATHER IS BAD?

WE OPERATE RAIN OR SHINE! As a vendor, you are responsible for bringing appropriate weights and tie-downs for your tents.

 

10. WHAT ABOUT SEVERE WEATHER?

If the Market is cancelled in its entirety due to severe or dangerous weather, a refund may be given (but is not guaranteed) for a future market date. Severe weather includes dangerously heavy wind/torrential rain, lightning, or any other weather condition that would jeopardize safety for you or our customers. Please do plan to be outside with us in all kinds of weather as cancellations are very unlikely. 


Vendor Policies

 

  1. No single-use plastic items are permitted at our markets (plastic bags, plasticware, cups, etc.). 

  2. Vendors agree to set up in their assigned spot only.

  3. Vendors unable to make their scheduled market will not be given refunds.

  4. Vendors are expected to unload in a timely manner beginning an hour to an hour 1/2 before start time, and to stay the entire duration of the market. Tear down begins at the end time.

  5. Vendors running late on market day - we totally understand things happen - but please let us know by the time specified on the email. If we have not heard from you by then, your spot may be forfeited and no refunds will be given.

  6. Parking is strictly enforced downtown so please take notice of where you park as we cannot be held responsible for any towing or ticketing.

  7. We will provide restrooms for vendors. Info will be provided in the map and instruction email.

  8. Vendors are expected to have proper licensing and insurance to participate in the event.

  9. Under any circumstance, The City of St. Petersburg, St. Pete Indie Market, Rosey Williams, Ramblin’ Rose LLC, Green Bench Brewery and any other adjacent businesses/properties cannot be held liable for occurrences that happen as a result of vending or attending at the St. Pete Indie Market.

  10. Vendors are expected to comply with all local, state and federal laws while participating at the St. Pete Indie Market. We are not responsible for occurrences that may change the operational flow of the market and we are not responsible for any loss of sales as a result.

  11. Vendors are responsible for cleaning up trash in their area. We provide trash and recycling bins, please use them.

  12. Most of the time, no electricity is provided for vendors, unless it is an After Dark market.
